SPORTS MEDICINE INJECTIONS
Injections are a current practice not
only in sports medicine but in the practice of general orthopaedics.
Right at this moment, thousands are being made worldwide. Injections
are used in a variety of joints and anatomical structures, with different drugs, and to treat different pathologies. Complications are rarely known as few are reported.
To understand more about the use
of injections in sports medicine, the ISAKOS Orthopaedic Sports Committee has developed a brief survey to gather information that can give a better knowledge about this massive practice. The results will contribute to the goal of establishing a consensus about the use of injections, and provide guidelines for surgeons and patients for scientific use.

ISAKOS Nominating Procedure 2015–2017
ISAKOS is pleased to announce the start of the Nominating Procedure for the office of 2nd Vice President of ISAKOS. The 2nd Vice President will serve as President of ISAKOS from 2019 – 2021.
Beginning on Wednesday April 1, 2015, the online process for making Online Recommendations for the position of 2nd Vice President will open. This system will remain open until April 15, 2015 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. Online recommendations can only be made by Active and Honorary Members of ISAKOS.
Candidates for Recommendation must meet the following criteria:
• Members may not recommend themselves.
• Recommended candidates must be ISAKOS Active
or Honorary Members in good standing (all dues paid). There are no geographical limitations on recommendations.
• Candidates must complete the application within stated deadline of April 30th.
After the Recommending process has closed, Candidates will be required to receive 20 “seconds” from April 16 – 30, 2015. Once candidates have received 20 seconds, they will be considered an official candidate for the office of 2nd Vice President.
The selection of 2nd Vice President and other necessary Executive Committee positions will be made by the Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee will be selected at the First Business Meeting, during the 2015 ISAKOS Congress.
