To category of hard injuries of elbow at young athletes are concerning the fractures of the distal metaepiphysis humeral and proximal epiphysis’s radial and ulna bones, and also forearm dislocations and Monteggia fractures-dislocations. Young athletes after such injuries for a long time or often at all are leaving from active sport.

Abstract

To category of hard injuries of elbow at young athletes are concerning the fractures of the distal metaepiphysis humeral and proximal epiphysis’s radial and ulna bones, and also forearm dislocations and Monteggia fractures-dislocations. Young athletes after such injuries for a long time or often at all are leaving from active sport.
Purpose – To find the complex method of rehabilitation of young athletes with hard injuries of elbow, working at intimate contact with coach groups.
Materials & methods. During last 10 years under our observation were 277 young athletes with fractures and fractures-dislocations of elbow. The age of the patients was from 8 till 12 years old.
The boys were 180, the girls – 97. Were prevailing the representatives of sport gymnastics, wrestling (Greco-Roman, free-style, judo, unarmed self-defence). At the questions of rehabilitation was the complex approach. The main task was to return young athlete for trainings at minimal rational period after hard injury of elbow, at full saving his physical and psychological conditions (sport form). Providing conservative and surgical methods of treatment, aspiring anatomic exact to rehabilitate the injured segments of elbow. At the period of plaster immobilization the coaches were forming the individual planes of trainings for maintenance the sport form of the athlete. At the injuries of the elbow at greater extend is suffering its function. So from the first days physiotherapy treatment and functional therapy (active movements) were providing the important part at the system of medical rehabilitation, and then were providing the medico-sport rehabilitation. The main task was to eliminate the permanent displays of the trauma and normalization the function of elbow. Under coaches recommendations were inserting the elements of special sport training, considering the individual features of the athlete, his general physical and special training at that stage. The complex physiotherapy treatment and functional therapy were providing. The trainings at the aqueous medium were obligatory. Responsible moment of the rehabilitation is the period of adaptation. For the injured young athletes swimming during 3-5 months became the second sport specialization. To the trainings at main sport specialization they were going over 6 months.
Results. The far distant results were examined at all observed patients at the terms from 2 till 10 years after trauma. At 93, 5% of observed patient’s anatomic-functional indices are excellent and good. Young athletes are again return to active sport trainings.
Conclusions. Providing complex medical and sport rehabilitation at young athletes with hard injuries of elbow, returning them to active sport became the reality, about it are testifying excellent and good far distant results at 93,5% observed patients.
