Dr. Sprague is an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on overuse tendon injuries with a specific interest in patellar tendinopathy in jumping athletes. The long-term goal of his research is to optimize load and recovery prescription to prevent and rehabilitate overuse tendon disorders. Through this work, Dr. Sprague has also investigated the prevalence of kinesiophobia and fear avoidance beliefs in overuse injuries and the impact of therapist prescribed activity modification on the mental health of athletes.
