Dr. Engler is an orthopedic surgeon with a specialization in sports medicine and shoulder. He has served as an Assistant Team Physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the University of Pittsburgh. He has served in the team physician role at the high school, Division III, Division I, and professional levels, ranging from local high school football to March Madness and the Peach Bowl. His team physician experiences have included football, hockey, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, gymnastics, wrestling, and ultimate. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed research articles and textbook chapters on orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, with a specific focus on the ACL, meniscus, rotator cuff, shoulder instability, and hip arthroscopy. Dr. Engler is on the Editorial Board for Arthroscopy, one of the top sports medicine journals in the world, and serves as a reviewer for multiple other journals. He has served in leadership roles throughout his career.
