Antonios T. Kouzelis, MD, PhD

Antonis Kouzelis studied at the Medical School of the University of Patras (1985-1991) and after completing the 1year JP service and a year of specialization in general surgery, began his specialization in Orthopaedics at the General Hospital of Patras of the University of Patras in 3/1997 and completed it in 6/2002. On 5/2003 he was declared Doctor (PhD) of the University of Patras with an excellent degree in the subject of the thesis. "Importance of glyph material in the development of long-sperm bones" in the Orthopaedic Clinic of the University of Patras in collaboration with the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the University of Patras In October 2001 he began his post-training with a Scholarship for a period of 5 months (1/10/2001- 28/2/2004) at the University of Würzburg (Bayeris Julius-Maximilians-Universitat) in Germany and in particular at the König-Ludvig-Haus University Orthopaedic Clinic with the main object of arthroscopic surgery ( shoulder, knee, ankle) while the 2004 (15/3/2004 –15/9/2004) six-month retraining (15/3/2004–15/9/2004) at the University Orthopaedic Clinic of Santa Anna Hospital in Germany (Klinik fur Orthopaedie am Lehrstuhl fur Radiologie und Mikrotherapie der Universitaet Witten/Herdecque) with the same object. In 2003 he took the position of junior NHS Consultant in the Orthopaedic Clinic of University Hospital of Patras where he works until today (Senior NHS Consultant). Dr. Kouzelis in his career so far has 31 publications in Pubmed journals, 4 outside Pubmed and 4 in Greek journals. Also 123 free papers, 76 at Greek conferences, 47 at international, invited speaker-instructor at 42 conferences (21 domestic and 21 abroad); participation in 11 domestic seminars as a trainee and 21international; participation in 102 conferences (domestic - internationals) as well as participation as an instructor in 11 domestic practical seminars and 8 internationals as well as round table president in 8 domestic conferences and 2 internationals. He has been awarded twice for his work, is a member of 3 scientific organisations, and is a reviewer in 4 internationalmagazines. He is also involved in the writing of 2 Greek and 1 international scientific writings(Allografts: General Sources of Information and Grafts (417) Sports Injuries: Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg).
