Theodorakys Marín-Fermín, MD, holds his private practice as a Sports Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Centro Médico Profesional Las Mercedes in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his fellowship at TheMIS Orthopaedic Center in Thessaloniki, Greece (2018), and Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar (2021-2023), specializing in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries in recreational and competitive athletes. He has comprehensive expertise in sports medicine, clinical orthobiologics, and surgical innovation, actively contributing to global orthopaedic advancements as a committee member in ISAKOS and ICRS and Editorial Board member of International Orthopaedics (SICOT) and the Journal of Experimental Orthopaedics (ESSKA). He has published over 50 scientific manuscripts and book chapters emphasizing joint preservation and cartilage regeneration in athletes. Previously, Dr. Marin served as a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at the Hospital Universitario Periférico de Coche in Caracas, Venezuela (2018-2021. He also held the position of Team Physician and Head of the Rehabilitation Department for Xanthi FC in the Super League Greece (2019). In addition to his clinical practice and research contributions, Dr. Marin is passionate about education. He holds a background in Educational Technology and e-learning, with qualifications including an Educational Technology Diploma from the Universidad Metropolitana de Caracas (2017) and certifications from the Fundación para la Actualización Tecnológica de Latinoamérica (2013) and the Universidad Central de Venezuela (2012).
