We all have cases that didn't turn out great. It would be comforting to see that it happens to everyone and to learn how the masters overcame the problems and continued on with their patients. Also not everyone has the opportunity to use the latest gadgets and technology in their operations. The old tricks that the more advanced generation used when there was no technology for every part of the surgery could be very handy even in the more developed countries, but even so in the countries that have no access and chance to use the high end technology.

Intra-operative and post-operative complications and adverse outcomes occur from time to time for all of us. This ICL aims to demonstrate through case presentations difficult situations our experienced faculty have encountered. How these situations were managed will be presented in some detail. Principles to manage complications and adverse outcomes will be developed during the ICL. There will be an emphasis on time for questions and discussion.

Treatment of osteochondral lesions of the ankle differs between North America and Europe. In North America, biological products such as PRP, juvenile cartilage, etc. are mainly performed, but MACI etc. are mainly performed in Europe. In Asian countries, the treatment methods that can be used are limited by the laws and regulations of each country, and the current situation is that different treatment algorithms are adopted by each country. The purpose of this ICL is to share the concept of each country's current situation and future goals.
