Dr. Amit Meena is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in knee surgery and sports medicine. Currently, he is working at Shalby Hospital, Jaipur, as a consultant knee surgeon. He is also leading KNEECARES—The Superspeciality Knee Clinic, Jaipur, India. Dr. Amit completed his orthopaedic residency at one of the largest orthopaedic centres in India, the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. Later, he joined the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna, Italy, and began his specialised training with Prof. Stefano Zaffagnini in knee surgery. He also carried out landmark research into knee replacement, knee ligament injuries, and the diagnosis and treatment of complex knee disorders. Further, he joined Gelenkpunkt: Sports and Joint Surgery, FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, Innsbruck, Austria, where he got great exposure with Prof. Christian Fink and Dr. Christian Hoser in knee replacement and sports injuries. After great exposure to complex knee replacement and sports injuries in Europe, Dr. Amit moved to North America and joined Western University, Ontario, Canada. Here he worked with Dr. Alan Getgood and further honed his skills in the management of complex knee disorders. A prolific researcher and writer, Dr. Amit has published over 50 studies and articles in the world’s leading orthopaedic journals and textbooks. He serves on a variety of editorial review boards and is a manuscript reviewer for JBJS, AJSM, CORR, ARTHROSCOPY, KSSTA, JEO, OJSM, and JISAKOS. His talent was recognised and lauded by ESSKA and ISAKOS, and he was honoured with many prestigious awards. He was awarded as the best reviewer of the year for JEO, an official journal of ESSKA. He was a finalist for the John J. Joyce and Paolo Aglietti Awards for ISAKOS Congress 2023, held in Boston, USA. He was invited to be a featured speaker at the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association’s 2024 Congress, held in Dubai, to deliver three dedicated lectures. He was selected as an ISAKOS global travelling fellow for 2023–2025 to represent Asia Pacific in 2025.
