Dr. Halliwell’s research focuses on musculoskeletal health, osteoarthritis, frailty, and joint preservation. His work is guided by the 3M framework: Mobility, Movement, and Medicine, with the goal of improving musculoskeletal health and reducing frailty across the lifespan. His research integrates biomechanics, imaging technologies, and epidemiological approaches to understand how gait, physical activity, and other modifiable factors influence aging and disease progression in adults with joint conditions. Spanning laboratory and hospital settings, his work is conducted in close collaboration with clinicians, ultimately aiming to improve clinical decision-making, preserve joint health, and support lifelong mobility.
