Petri Sillanpää MD, PhD, is chief surgeon at Pihlajalinna Hospital Tampere, Finland. He is an expert in knee and sports medicine, especially patellofemoral joint and pediatric knee disorders. His academic dissertation took place in Tampere University in 2009, titled: "Traumatic Patellar Dislocation and Clinical Significance of Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Injury". Petri is current president of Finnish Arthroscopy & Knee Association. He is past chair and member of ESSKA Patellofemoral Instability Committee. Petri was selected for ISAKOS patellofemoral traveling fellowship in 2010, and visited many high-level centers in USA, Asia and Europe. He was also selected for ESSKA-APKASS travelling fellowship in 2012. He is a member of IPSG (International Patellofemoral Study Group).
