Professor. Martyn Snow is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham and The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry which are 2 of only 5 purely Orthopaedic Hospitals in the country. Prof. Snow is a graduate of Edinburgh University and undertook his Registrar training in the Manchester region. He spent 18 months on fellowship in North America, 12 months in Halifax, Nova Scotia undertaking a Sports Medicine fellowship at the Sports Medicine Clinic of Nova Scotia. He subsequently spent 6 months at the Holand Orthopaedic and Arthritic Centre in Toronto, gaining further experience in Shoulder and Knee surgery. He specialises in Knee and Shoulder arthroscopy, osteotomy and joint preservation surgery.
Professor Snow has over 70 publications in various International medical journals, he has written 6 book chapters on knee and shoulder injuries and has presented over 100 papers at various national and International meetings.
Professor Snow is Professor of Regenerative Medicine at Keele University and holds an Honorary chair in Chemical Engineering at The University of Birmingham. His grant awards total nearly £3,000,000 and his current research interests include the use of chondroprogenitors for cartilage repair, biological augmentation of tendon repair and rotational lower limb malalignment.
