Urszula E. Zdanowicz, MD

Dr Urszula Zdanowicz is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and consultant specializing in reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, ankle, and foot. Her practice spans both adult and pediatric patients, covering ligament and multiligament reconstruction, meniscal repair and transplantation, osteotomies, cartilage repair (including transplantation), patellar stabilization, joint replacement, and fusion procedures. She is a Faculty Member at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, where she conducts research on tissue regeneration, and is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications and textbook chapters. She serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals, including KSSTA and Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Zdanowicz has long been active in sports medicine, having served as team physician for national squads, including as a member of the Medical Committee of the Polish Football Association (PZPN) and a Board member of the Medical Committee of the Polish Olympic Committee. She served as team physician during the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin. She is actively involved in leading international scientific societies, including ISAKOS (Vice-Chair of the Education Committee, 2023–2025; currently a member of the Leg, Ankle & Foot Committee) and ESSKA (member of the Basic Science Committee, 2022–2024; accredited ESSKA instructor). Beyond clinical and academic work, Dr. Zdanowicz is dedicated to patient education, sharing accessible medical content on orthopedics and sports injury care through her social media channels, including Instagram (@dr.urszula.zdanowicz).
