Prof. Olivier Verborgt is a shoulder surgeon and head of the Orthopedic Center Antwerp (Orthoca) in AZ Monica in Antwerp. He is a consultant at the department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology of the University Hospital Antwerp and visiting professor at the faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Antwerp. He is the former president of the Belgian Association for Orthopedics and Traumatology (BVOT). He is the current president of the Belgian Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Society (BELSS), board member of the executive committee of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECEC) and a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES) and is active in clinical and basic research on shoulder pathology with more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and actively involved in the treatment of shoulder pathology of elite athletes.
