Dr. José Félix Castillo Sáenz is a medical doctor specialized in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, with a subspecialty in hip and knee surgery, focusing particularly on hip preservation procedures. He is a pioneer in hip arthroscopy in Panama, with over 12 years of experience, performing more than 50 hip arthroscopies annually, along with hip and knee joint replacements. He earned his medical degree from the University of Panama and completed his orthopedic residency at the Dr. Arnulfo Arias Madrid Hospital Complex in Panama City. He later pursued a fellowship in hip and knee surgery, with a focus on hip arthroscopy, at the Imbanaco Medical Center, affiliated with Javeriana University in Cali, Colombia.
Currently, he practices at the Centro Ortopédico Panama Clinic as a hip and knee surgery subspecialist. Since 2016, he has served as coordinator of the hip preservation module for the Panamanian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SPOT). Dr. Castillo is an active member of several international professional societies, including ISHA, ISAKOS, AANA, SLARD, and SICOT.
