MedStar Orthopaedic Institute Washington, DC UNITED STATES Dr. Douoguih serves as Regional Medical Director of MedStar Sports Medicine. He also previously served as the Senior Orthopaedic Consultant and Head Team Physician for the Washington Wizards (NBA) Washington Mystics (WNBA) and as Medical Director for the Washington Capitals (NHL). He is former Chairman of the NBA Physician Research Committee and continues to serve on the committee as an active a member. He is a consultant for the Baltimore Ravens (NFL) and NFL Players Association. He previously served as Medical Director and Head Team Physician for the Washington Nationals (MLB) for seven years. He has successfully operated on numerous professional and elite athletes in a wide range of sports. Dr. Douoguih is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and holds a subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He specializes in arthroscopic treatment of the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is an award-winning researcher who has published multiple articles in peer reviewed journals and has lectured internationally on various sports medicine topics. He was an All-American lacrosse player at Washington and Lee university where in 2017 he was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame. He also won a national judo championship in 2001.
