Dr. Lapner is Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Ottawa. He works at The Ottawa Hospital, where he is Director of Research at the Division of Orthopedics. He completed medical training at the University of Toronto, University of Ottawa, and University of British Columbia. He has assumed various leadership roles with the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA) and is immediate past-President of the Canadian Shoulder and Elbow Society (CSES). He has authored national guidelines including on Massive Rotator Cuff Tears, Lateral Epicondylitis, and Proximal Humeral Fractures. His research programs focus on the rotator cuff, shoulder instability, shoulder arthritis, and peri-prosthetic shoulder infection.
