Alberto Costantini, MD

Dr Alberto COSTANTINI is a M.D. obtained at Rome University “La Sapienza” in 1992 with maximum cum laude and specialized in Orthopedic and Traumatology at Rome University “La Sapienza” in 1999 with maximum cum laude. He was, from the beginning, interested in arthroscopic surgical techniques with a special interest in hip, shoulder and knee surgery. Since 2000, Dr Costantini has been Attending Doctor at the Orthopaedic Department of the Concordia Hospital for Special Surgery that is an ISAKOS Teaching Centre. He formed in several leading American Orthopedics Center for the Sport Medicine. His field of interest is shoulder and hip pathologies. With particular interest, he was one of the beginner in 2007 of Hip Arthroscopy in Italy. He worked in collaboration with different scientific societies including the Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SIOT), and the Società Italiana Di Artroscopia, Ginocchio, Arto Superiore, Sport, Cartilagine E Tecnologie Ortopediche (SIAGASCOT) where he was in the faculty. He was also member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sport Medicine (ISAKOS) were he was member of the hip, groin and thigh committee, and others from 2019 to 2021). He has been involved as Head Doctor in Italian football and rugby teams. Dr. Costantini is involved in research projects based on his specialty area and published in national and international journals. He wrote books and books chapter, papers and produced a variety of surgical DVDs.. He is also the inventor of the Wedged Profile Mini Plate and relative instrumentations (Arthrex Gmbh) for the Open Latarjet procedure in shoulder instability. Dr. Costantini is instructor and lecturer at numerous national and international cadaver-lab, workshops and seminars on Hip and Shoulder Arthroscopy
