Journal of ISAKOS is Open Access - 100% APC Discount for ISAKOS Members

Journal of ISAKOS Advances to Open Access and Moves to Elsevier

We are pleased to inform you that starting in January 2022, authors who publish in the Journal of ISAKOS (JISAKOS) can make their research work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible worldwide, as the journal transitions to Gold open access.

As an open access journal, JISAKOS will ask authors whose papers are accepted for publishing to pay an article publishing charge (APC), giving authors a choice of license options plus the ability to retain copyright to their published work. ISAKOS members are eligible for a 100% APC discount, and even non-member authors will have the ability to join ISAKOS and access the APC discount. The APC, which is not required upon submission but will be requested after peer review and acceptance, will apply to all accepted articles submitted after August 1, 2021. The APC for JISAKOS will be USD $750 for shorter articles, such as case reports, and USD $1,500 for full-length articles.

Now indexed in Medline/PUBMED as well as the Clarivate Emerging Sources Citation Index, JISAKOS is led by Editor-in-Chief Niek van Dijk, MD, PhD, from the Netherlands. Dr. van Dijk stated that "in addition to this change to open access, which I find very exciting, the journal is also moving to a new publisher, Elsevier, and will be available on Science Direct, which is the most widely accessed medical journal platform. All these things we are doing will benefit the journal, the society, the authors and reviewers, and most of all, the surgeons and experts we educate and their patients who will ultimately benefit from this information. Corresponding authors who are ISAKOS members are eligible for a 100% APC discount for a limited time. Non-member corresponding authors have the ability to join ISAKOS and access the APC discount.
