Dear ISAKOS Members and Friends,
It is a pleasure to introduce to you the final ISAKOS eNewsletter for 2026. In this issue, you will find six Current Perspective articles discussing key topics related to hip, knee, and shoulder surgery as well as a summary article about the FORUM fellowship, an initiative created by women to support the next generation of women in our field.
The Current Perspective articles in this issue cover topics such as acetabular depth and rim-trimming dilemmas during hip arthroscopy; bone-grafting considerations related to high tibial open-wedge osteotomies; HAGL lesion management during shoulder surgery; European regulations on substances of human origin; kinematic alignment during knee arthroplasty; and the clinical relevance of statistical metrics. Of particular interest to the editorial team is the article entitled “Beyond the P Value: From Statistical Metrics to Clinical Decision-Making,” which we have selected as the subject of a special Podcast episode. We encourage you to listen to the discussion and hope that the articles in this issue will provide useful insights for your daily clinical practice.
For this issue, the Archives Committee has prepared a special article celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Journal of ISAKOS. Launched in 2016 by a dedicated group of leaders in the field, the journal has become one of the most impactful upper-tier scientific journals that continues to make important contributions to orthopaedic research and clinical practice. We invite you to join us in celebrating this milestone and encourage you to consider submitting your best research to this journal!
Last but not least, we encourage you testing your knowledge by completing this issue’s 5-question Quick Quiz. You may become the next ISAKOS member to be invited to share your personal experiences with the ISAKOS community through our social media platforms.
Thank you again for being part of the ISAKOS global community, and keep enjoying this ISAKOS learning experience—anytime, anywhere!
Sincerely yours,
