Assoc.-Porf. Dr. Daniel P. Berthold is currently working at the Department of Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery, Musculoskeletal University Center Munich (MUM), University Hospital, LMU Munich. Dr. Berthold spent 2018/2019 as a research fellow at the University of Connecticut under Prof. Dr. Augustus D. Mazzocca and Prof. Dr. Robert A. Arciero. His main research focuses on the biomechanical consequences of irreparable rotator cuff tears and the importance of re-establishing the force couple and preventing superior humeral head migration; Reconstruction techniques of the Superior Capsule; clinical and functional outcomes after primary and/or revision AC Joint Surgery; important biomechanical considerations in modern ACL surgery - and improving the visualization of the Kaplan Fiber Complex in ACL deficient knees. Dr. Berthold currently serves as a Editorial Member of Arthroscopy and as a reviewer for AJSM, OJSM, J ISAKOS, KSSTA and BMC.
