Nobuo Adachi, MD, PhD (Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine) Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Hiroshima University, Japan Dr. Nobuo Adachi graduated from Hiroshima University in 1988, and joined the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Hiroshima University. He has studied sports-related knee surgeries and regenerative medicine under the direction of Prof. Ochi who is now the President of Hiroshima University. His research interests are sports-related knee surgeries, such as ACL or other ligament reconstructions, meniscal surgeries, adolescent knee problems and cartilage repair or regeneration. He was a research fellow at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Pittsburgh where he had worked with Prof. Freddie Fu and Prof. Johnny Huard from 1999 to 2000. He became the Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Hiroshima University in 2016 and has more than 254 peer-reviewed international publications. Dr. Adachi honorably obtained the traveling fellowship between APOSSM (Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine) and ESSKA (European Society Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy) in 2004 and between JOA (Japanese Orthopaedic Association) and AOA(American Orthopaedic Association) in 2007. He was awarded the first place of John Joyce Award of ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine) in 2005. He also serves on Journal of Orthopaedic Science, Knee Surgeries Sports Traumatology Arthroscopy (KSSTA)as Editorial Board members. He was awarded KSSTA reviewer award 2016 and became the president of Japanese Orthopaedic Society of Knee, Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine
