Education. - Graduate (1982) and doctor Ph (1989) in Medicine and Surgery, specialist in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (1991) and Medicine of Physical Education and Sports (2001). Stays in six hospitals and foreign universities to complete educaction and research training. Research activity.- In 1983 he carried out the research work entitled "Embryonic development of the ankle joint", which was presented as a graduate thesis (Faculty of Medicine, Oviedo) and qualified with Outstanding, and in 1989 I defended the Doctoral Thesis titled “Diarthrodial cartilage and growth in different experimental circumstances. An approximation to the problem of osteoarthritis”, qualified with Outstanding Cum Laude. I am the author / co-author of 15 journal articles included in the JCR, of 60 articles in national journals, not indexed, and of 25 book chapters. Speaker of more than 440 lectures, participant in 26 Congress organizations or membership of the Scientific Committee. Participant in 10 research projects in 1 of them as principal investigator. Author of 2 national patents (surgical instruments of knee). Teaching activity.- From 1983 to 2000 I taught in Anatomy and Surgical Pathology II and Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology with the academic categories of honorary collaborator and part-time associate professor in the departments of Morphology and Celular Biology and Surgery and Medical-Surgical Specialties of the Oviedo University. I have also participated in postgraduate and doctoral programs at different universities, as well as specializing courses (28), especially knee surgery. Management activity.- The management work carried out focuses on the activity as regional medical head of FREMAP (Work Insurance Company) from 2000 to the present, coordinating the assistance and investigation of the medical-sanitary personnel. Assistance-professional activity.- From 1991 to 1999 assistant of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology of the Hospital of Cabueñes de Gijón (Asturias). Member of the Commission on Teaching and Continuing Education (1997-2000). Doctor Resident Tutor of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (1992-1999) of the hospital of Cabueñes. Since 2000 Regional Medical Chief of FREMAP (Mutual of occupational accidents). Doctor of the Spanish Rugby sub19-Team (1997 to 1999) and senior Team (1999 to 2000). Head of Medical Services Gijón Basketball SAD (1999 to 2004). Head of the Medical Services of Real Sporting de Gijón Soccer Team SAD (since 2004 and continues). I have attended more than 400 national and international congresses having presented numerous papers, and member of different national and international associations.
