Visit to Clínica Espregueira – As Part of the 2024 ISAKOS Mentorship Program

I'm pleased to share highlights from my recent visit to the Clínica Espregueira – FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, hosted by Prof. João Espregueira-Mendes, and joined by my mentor, the esteemed Prof. Philippe Neyret, as part of the ISAKOS Mentorship Program.

It was a unique experience to spend three days with two ISAKOS Presidents ( 2015-17; 2025-27) exchanging about orthopedics sports medicine.

This visit was a valuable opportunity to deepen my understanding of orthopaedic and sports medicine practice through a series of research meetings, orthobiology sessions, and clinical education discussions. A particular highlight was observing the preparation and injection of PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)—a hands-on look into cutting-edge regenerative therapies.

Our discussions also covered emerging directions in orthopaedic innovation, collaborative research, and the integration of biological therapies into clinical workflows. The team at Clínica Espregueira fosters a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, dedicated to excellence in both patient care and scientific advancement.

This experience has been both inspiring and educational, and I look forward to building on the insights gained through continued collaboration and shared progress.
