Role of the fellow with respect to Clinical, Surgical, Research, and other opportunities: The shoulder unit of VieCuri Medical center provides this 3 months observing fellowship on shoulder arthroscopy and arthroplasty. The two fellowship trained shoulder subspecialists will train you during clinics and their surgeries. Surgeries that you will be exposed to are rotator cuff repair, stabilizations, Latarjet, arthroscopic bone block, tendon transfers, reverse and total shoulder arthroplasty and endoscopic plexus surgery. In our role as level two trauma unit you will be exposed to some shoulder trauma as well. Research activities are well supported at our department.

Research projects, research facilities and resources, cadaver labs, publication opportunities, integration of the patient and public involvement, and the role of the fellow: At the VieCuri Shoulder unit we have multiple PhD students, research coordinator and two surgeons dedicated to research. Research is highly encouraged and supervised during visits.
Because of the language barrier clinics is done only supervised but times is preserved for visitors to guide them in the decision process for treatment options.
In collaboration with the industry some cadaver sessions might be organized.
Depending on the skills and level of surgeon hand on exposure is possible but all visitors are able to scrub in all the time.
