2025 ISAKOS Congress Young Professionals Abstract Awards
ISAKOS is pleased to announce a new award opportunity for Young Professionals for the 15th Biennial ISAKOS Congress!
Up to three (3) awards will be given to presenting authors of the highest scoring abstracts submitted
by Young Professionals (45 years and under):
- (1) Highest scoring abstract considered for a podium presentation
- (1) Highest scoring abstract submitted for an e-poster
- (1) Highest scoring abstract submitted for a physical poster
Recipients will receive waived registration to the 2025 ISAKOS Congress and
recognition within Congress program materials and signage.
Non-Member Recipients of the award will also receive 1 year of waived membership
with ISAKOS (for those applicants who are not currently an ISAKOS Member).
Eligibility and Application Requirements
To be considered for an award, applicants must submit their abstracts to the
2025 ISAKOS Congress as the presenting author. Applicants must be a Young Professional orthopaedic surgeon.
Young Professionals are categorized as those 45 years of age or under.
To confirm eligibility applicants will be asked to provide their date of birth.
Review Process
The review process with follow the 2025 ISAKOS Congress abstract submission protocol
and timeline. All abstracts are blindly reviewed by committees of qualified
orthopaedic surgeons.
Abstract Grading Criteria
Abstracts are graded on a scale from 0.0 to 12.0 (12.0 being the best) based on the following:

Scientific Merit (0-6, with 6 points max)
- Is the problem clearly stated?
- Are the statistics sound?
- Are there adequate numbers of subjects?
- How is the methodology? {are there controls?, is this prospective vs. retrospective?}
- Is the abstract clear / well written and are the results clear?
- Are the conclusions supported by the results?
- Originality of Project (0-2)
- Clinical Usefulness (0-2)
- Level of Interest to ISAKOS Members (0-2)
Application Deadline and Award Notification
Deadline to submit applications is September 01, 2024.
Applications will be reviewed after the submission deadline, with recipients being notified no later than December 15, 2024.
