Mission

Develop multi-faceted and multi-dimensional educational offerings to meet the scientific, clinical and practice-related needs of the members.

Body of Work: Further the Mission of ISAKOS to promote the exchange and dissemination of education, research and patient care in arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine via mediums such as the ISAKOS Global Link.

Charges

The following charges are for June 2019 – June 2021

  • Strategic Plan
    • Identify the gaps in education and training (i.e. surveys, post-Congress evaluations, and industry input)
    • Improve upon the evaluation system to measure success for ISAKOS educational programs (i.e. Teaching Center Evaluation forms from attendees, ISAKOS Approved Course and Workshop wrap-up reports)
  • Global Link & Online Education
    • In conjunction with other ISAKOS Clinical Committees, evaluate, modify, update and create innovative concepts and uses of ISAKOS Global Link.
    • Develop and propose a webinar-based series to be offered via the ISAKOS website.
    • Develop long term strategy for non-course based educational initiatives to be offered by ISAKOS including objectives and timelines.
  • Teaching Centers
    • Continue to review and approve ISAKOS Teaching Center applications online.
    • Develop system to evaluate ISAKOS Teaching Centers. Determine criteria for Teaching Centers to receive ISAKOS Teaching Center Visiting Scholars.
    • Evaluate and select ISAKOS Teaching Center Scholarship recipients annually.
  • Approved Courses
    • Continue to review and approve ISAKOS Approved Course applications online.
    • Committee members must inform the ISAKOS Office of Approved Courses they will attend so marketing materials can be sent. Additionally, a meeting-wrap up report must be submitted for review of the course or workshop, and publication in the ISAKOS Newsletter.
  • Publications
    • Collaborate with the Publications Committee, as well as clinical committees, to develop ISAKOS Books based on identified educational gaps and need.
    • Collaborate with the Publications & Clinical Committees to expand Books to include online educational options, such as video and possible online courses.
  • Strategic Plan
    • Advance the fulfillment / achievement of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan. Consider with all Committee initiatives, how projects will assist in the accomplishment of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan.
  • Reporting
    • Quarterly Report to the Board of Directors on activities and accomplishments on charges above due as scheduled.
