Mission

Develop multi-faceted and multi-dimensional educational offerings to meet the scientific, clinical and practice-related needs of the members.

Body of Work: Further the Mission of ISAKOS to promote the exchange and dissemination of education, research and patient care in arthroscopy, knee surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine via mediums such as the ISAKOS Global Link.

Charges

The following charges are the 2025 - 2027 committee term.

  • Awards & Fellowships
    • Assist in selecting the winner of the ISAKOS Peter Fowler Career Clinician Educator Award
  • Journal of ISAKOS
    • Provide articles to the Journal of ISAKOS, as requested by the JISAKOS Editorial Board.
    • Serve as article reviewers for Journal of ISAKOS as requested
  • Publications
    • Prepare and submit at least one article, annually, for the ISAKOS eNewsletter; for possible inclusion within the 2026 and 2027 calendar years.
  • Research & Education
    • Collaborate with Executive Committee to plan ISAKOS sessions at Partner Society meetings, as requested.
    • Continue to review and approve teaching center and approve courses applications online
    • Ensure a biennial review and update of the Residency & Fellowships directory
    • Evaluate webinars performance, survey feedback, and recommend improvements
    • Oversee development of annual Webinar Calendar, in collaboration with Clinical Committees and ISAKOS Office, reviewing selection of topics, and faculty
    • Review existing publications, Global Link videos, and webinars for expansion of online educational products, to include certificate courses.
  • Strategic Plan
    • Advance the fulfillment / achievement of Education strategies in the ISAKOS Strategic Plan, such as those listed below. Consider with any initiative how that project will assist in accomplishing goals/strategies of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan.
    • Continually enhance the evolving ISAKOS Congress, proactively develop a balanced webinar schedule, and strategically plan collaborative cadaver workshops that allow for regular presence in the different ISAKOS regions.
    • Develop a strategy for assessing demand, testing appeal of various content formats, and developing a process to conceptualize and develop new content and instructional formats, e.g., self-directed online courses/modules, community boards, etc for a revise
    • Evolve current Global Link online content platform from a passive resource to an active resource, promoting content more widely to achieve Education Goals and Strategies. Ensure a biennial review and update of Global Link content, archiving outdated mate
    • Maintain Global Educators Database: creating a database (or listing) of global educators that the Education Committee can turn to in the future to recommend faculty for ISAKOS-specific programs, workshops and symposia.
