Hip, Groin & Thigh Committee

Mission

Contribute to the overall education and research activities of ISAKOS as required and requested.

Body of Work: This committee will focus on hip problems, including FAI and hip instability, as well as peri-articular problems, such as sports hernia, adductor injury, psoas and hip abductor problems, along with thigh injuries, such as hamstring strains, quadriceps contusions, femoral neck and shaft stress fractures, and hip flexor injuries.

Charges

The following charges are the 2023 - 2025 committee term.

  • Congress
    • Collaborate with Program Chair and Deputy Chair on innovations and new technologies that can be implemented at the 2025 Congress in Munich
    • Develop scientific session proposals for the Biennial ISAKOS Congress related to Hip, Groin & Thigh; Committee will be responsible to propose topics, session chairs and a balanced faculty, in collaboration with the Program Committee and ISAKOS Office
    • Review and grade abstracts for the Biennial ISAKOS Congress related to Hip, Groin and Thigh
  • Global Link
    • Assist in the management, review and organization of ISAKOS Global Link content related to Hip, Groin and Thigh
  • Journal of ISAKOS
    • Collaborate with JISAKOS Editor-in-Chief on development of a Theme Issue as requested.
    • Provide at least two articles for the Journal of ISAKOS, annually. Content to be determined in collaboration with JISAKOS Editor.
    • Serve as article reviewers for Journal of ISAKOS as requested.
  • Projects
    • Propose a new potential Committee project for Board consideration such as: Multimedia, Publications, Research & Education, Webinar
  • Publications
    • Prepare and Submit at least two articles for the ISAKOS Newsletter, each calendar year
  • Strategic Plan
    • Advance the fulfillment / achievement of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan. Consider with all Committee initiatives, how projects will assist in the accomplishment of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan.
