Charges

The following charges are for June 2019 – June 2021

  • Congress
    • Review and grade abstracts for the Biennial ISAKOS Congress related to Scientific Research.
    • Develop symposium and ICL proposals for the Biennial ISAKOS Congress related to Scientific Research.
  • Research Advisory Task Force
    • Develop a process of application and methodology to evaluate applications for ISAKOS funding for research projects to include:
      • New Researcher
      • Osteoarthritis
      • Clinical Outcomes
      • Countries with Limited Resources
  • Oversight
    • Determine the process and ensure that the activities of other committees and programs are scientifically valid and meet accepted criteria for publication and dissemination.
    • Ensure research activities are translational to assist members in their practice activities and improve patient care.
  • Awards & Fellowships
    • Select the winner for the Jan Gillquist Scientific Research Grant at the ISAKOS Congress and coordinate the presentation at the awards ceremony.
    • Select the winner for the Young Investigator's Scholarship and Research Mentoring Program Part I finalists and Part II winners and coordinate the presentation at the awards ceremony.
  • Newsletter
    • Prepare and Submit at least two articles for the ISAKOS Newsletter, each calendar year.
    • Deadlines: Volume I: December 1 Volume II: June 1
  • Publications
    • Develop and execute the production of a scientific supplement document on a topic to be determined by the Committee, for possible inclusion in the Journal of ISAKOS or for distribution to ISAKOS members.
  • Journal of ISAKOS
    • Provide at least two articles for Journal of ISAKOS annually. Content to be determined in collaboration with JISAKOS Editor, C. Niek van Dijk.
    • Serve as article reviewers on an as needed basis for Journal of ISAKOS.
  • Global Link
    • Assist in the management, review and organization of ISAKOS Global Link content related to Scientific topics.
  • Strategic Plan
    • Advance the fulfillment/achievement of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan. Consider with all Committee initiatives how projects will assist in the accomplishment of the ISAKOS Strategic Plan.
  • Reporting
    • Quarterly Report to the Board of Directors on activities and accomplishments on charges above due as scheduled.
