ISAKOS Membership

Membership Categories

• Active Membership (USD $449)

  Medical doctors qualified as orthopaedists, musculoskeletal surgeons, rheumatologists, or the equivalent, from all countries, who are in good medical standing in their country of residence. Active members may vote, hold office, apply for grants, and receive discounted registration rates.
  
  Active Membership can only be awarded after review by the Membership Committee.
  
  The Membership Committee reviews Active Membership upgrades twice yearly. To be considered, applicants must:

  • Complete all required sections of the online application
  • Be current on dues owed
  • Have at least one Sponsorship Request approved
  • Have attended at least one ISAKOS Congress

  Associate Members who qualify will automatically be forwarded for consideration.

• Associate Membership (USD $449)

  Individuals with interest or ability in medicine or science who have demonstrated interest in arthroscopy, knee surgery, or orthopaedic sports medicine. Associate Members do not vote or hold office but receive reduced Congress registration rates.
  
  Requirements:

  • Complete all required sections of the online application
  • Complete a Sponsorship Request
  • Submit dues payment of USD $449

  ---

• In-Training Membership – Residents, Fellows, Medical Students (Free)

  Individuals currently enrolled in a Residency or Fellowship Program, or medical students, are eligible for up to five years of free membership.

  • Residents
    Must provide proof of residency from program Chair or equivalent.
  • Fellows
    Must provide proof of fellowship and dates.
  • Medical Students
    Must provide proof of student enrollment.

  In-Training Members may not vote, hold office, or upgrade to Active Membership.
  
  After completion, members may upgrade to Associate Membership without reapplying.

• Allied Specialty Membership (USD $449)

  Individuals such as professors, nurses, physical therapists, scientists, and physician assistants with interest in arthroscopy, knee surgery, and orthopaedic sports medicine. Members do not vote or hold office but receive the reduced Allied Health registration rate.

  ---

• Emeritus Membership (Free)

  Members aged 70+ who have been Active Members for 15 consecutive years and are no longer practicing may apply for Emeritus status. Emeritus Members do not vote or hold office.

• Group Membership

  Medical doctors whose dues are paid through an approved group membership. Group Members may receive select benefits but are not eligible to vote.
