The First Orthopaedics Clinic at the Istituto Ortopedico Gaetano Pini, University of Milan, routinely treats several patients for knee, hip, elbow, ankle and shoulder diseases at an high quality level with international recognition. This department is one of the most known in the country for Sports Traumatology. The department is under the direction of Professor Pietro S. Randelli. A biomechanical lab managed by Prof. Pietro Randelli and PhD Biology Dr. Alessandra Menon is in charge to conduct several clinical and research studies, around 6 per period. Research and clinical work are always ongoing. Surgeries are performed 5 days a week, 8 am/8 pm. We perform Total Joints Arthroplasty (hip-knee-shoulder) and arthroscopy of all joints. The outpatient clinic is open four days a week. The fellowship program includes: -Surgical session at least 3 days per week, all day long -Outpatients consultation with masters -Scientific sessions with clinical cases discussion -Rounds -Participation in local meetings -Participate/edit/review clinical papers -Participate in research projects

Faculty Participating in Fellowship Education: The medical staff, well appreciated throughout the Country, includes in particular Dr. Filippo Randelli (Hip arthroscopy and THR), Dr. Paolo Arrigoni (upper limb/elbow). Staff members are almost 16, all experienced but the trainees will be in contact especially with Dr. R. Compagnoni (Knee-shoulder and trauma), Dr. C. Fossati (shoulder), Dr. P. Ferrua (Knee and Patellofemoral expert), Dr. Alberto Fioruzzi (Hip arthroscopy and THR) Dr. Silvia De Martinis (foot and ankle) and 10 residents plus several students.
Recent activity of Teaching Center: Several fellows from worldwide are visiting per year.
