Alexander Rainer Manuel Bitzer, MD

Dr. Alexander Bitzer was a NCAA division I soccer athlete in college and was subsequently accepted to the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia where he received his medical degree. He then completed a residency at the world-renown Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD followed by a prestigious sports medicine and shoulder and elbow fellowship at OrthoCarolina Sports Medicine Center. There he received advanced training in complex sports medicine, shoulder/elbow, and hip preservation techniques. In addition, he served as an associate team physician for several teams at both the collegiate and professional level. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and presented his research at various national and international conferences. He was recently elected as a fellow member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) society.
