Carlos Yacuzzi, MD
Dr Yacuzzi has been fully devoted to orthopedic surgery since 2003. He is focused specially in sports medicine and joint preserving procedures as well as knee replacement surgery. He is a full time attending surgeon at one of most prestigious Hospitals in Latin America, The Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires, were He also does His academic and clinical research activities. He is a Teaching Assistant of Orthopedic Surgery and He actively collaborate in the education of medical students, orthopedics residents and sport medicine fellows.
He graduated from the National University of Tucumán, Argentina. He trained at the Italian Hospital in Buenos Aires in Orthopaedic Surgery and also in Knee Surgery from 2003 to 2010. He also received many awards from national scientific associations. Dr. Yacuzzi performed numerous training and research activities in knee surgery abroad, including places such as the University of Pittsburgh, Hospital for Special Surgery, Rush Presbyterian, Steadman Philippon Research Institute and Cleveland Clinic. He was selected for the SLARD-AOSSM traveling fellow in 2018. He has been the Team Physician for several Rugby Teams in Buenos Aires (Alumni Rugby Association, Champagnat Club, CASI, St Albans Rugby Club) and been one of the physicians in charge of the Sports Campus of the University of Buenos Aires from 2005 to 2015 and member of the medical team at the Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games 2018. He published over 30 research papers in OJSM, Knee Journal, MLTJ and Arthroscopy and local Journals. He is a reviewer for the OJSM, Annals of Sports Medicine and Research and the Argentinian Journal of Sports Traumatology. Dr. Yacuzzi is an active Member of ISAKOS, member of AOSSM, Magellan Society, SLARD, AAOS (American Academy of Orthopeadic Surgeons), Argentinian Sports Traumatology Association (AATD), Argentinian Arthroscopy Association (AAA), Argentinian Association of Hip and Knee (A.Ca.Ro) and Argentinian Association of Orthopedic and Traumatology. He is on the board of directors of the AATD (Vice President) and in the Education Committee for the AAA.
